Hypocrite or Hero, Liberator or invader

As heartbreaking and devastating as Russia’s actions are, I have to ask myself to look back at my own country’s actions.

They say all is fair in love and war, to some love of war.

I love my country, I still believe it to be one of the greatest places to live. I am tremendously grateful for the men and women in the service who afford me the life of freedom I enjoy.

I can not ignore how we got here, or how we try to keep the globe, with help of other countries, a place for others to live freely in.

American history is a hot mess of many tactics and defenses used to birth and keep our country. Looking closely at some, I’m sad to say I see some similarities of misuse of power.

At times no two of us can agree on what was done, let alone if it was justifiable. Our history has been edited many times to fit the agenda, not accuracy.

All of that aside, looking at the here and now, knowing the frailty and risk at hand. I wonder if I understand what is happening, truly know what is the best course of action, have a clue on how to stop the pain for those being invaded.

Mostly I wonder if we as humans will ever grow enough to live peacefully together.

I wonder if this is just another brutal act in history or an indication of the start of our end.
