Old man winter protest.
I would like to convince you I was flabbergasted this morning when the fuzzy one and I stepped out into a fresh fall of wet sticky snow.
As I looked around we felt the fine flake falling to let us know it would continue.
The truth of the matter is I wasn’t, it is the Midwest after all and let’s be frank, life over the last few years has been anything but typical.
Why shouldn’t the weather also get in its jabs and right cross?
The so-called “New Norm” everyone was anxious to use as our future name is highly overrated as the word normal should be stricken from the description.
I believe it is safe to say we should take nothing for granted and appreciate all around us each day.
Not that I intend to frighten anyone, but the reality is we live in very frail times.
We have taken from the earth without thought of depletion or damage as we bury garbage in the voids of items taken from it.
Even now as we are annoyed over items not available in the grocery store, auto dealerships, and processor manufacturers. We give little thought to the reasons behind it, just that it is inconvenient.
Even as other countries are under attack, we tend to focus on what used to be, and not on what Life WILL be.
So as my boots become heavy with the spring snow, I try to look around and enjoy the beauty of the white.
Knowing there may come a time when snow no longer visits.
