Coffee Anyone?
Greetings
While I am not competing in the Coffee Times Shout Out challenge I felt it of strong importance, importance enough to write a shorty on the endeavor.
I believe in Winston’s vision and drive to offer many opportunity they may not have been previously offered. His ability to grow the pub into the virtual place its name hints at.
A place of warmth, coffee, tunes, view and company much like the brick and mortar many of us hide out in from time to time. A place where servers and owners alike, or in our case editors and authors, are of equal importance and full of the same hope and drive for story tell.
The reason I find this particular challenge of importance is multifaceted in nature. First it hints at one of the fundamentals I have mentioned lightly in some of my pieces, Escape. In his own way Winston is providing authors this tool in the challenge by grooming them in appreciation.
While the challenge focus is a shout out and thus appreciation of proximity talent, we all know appreciation has the ability to grow and bloom.
We all also know the mechanics of calling out the very competition we hope to better is not the destination but the journey. We all know the seed of requirement Winston is instilling is a sound paver in life walk, not just writing.
What may not be realized just yet is the ability to provide others escape through recognition and nurture. Hindsight is a wonderful gift, I’m sure our competitors may revisit the challenge at later date in realization of its greater offer.
I find the challenge important in the potential of growth it offers the soul in addition to the quill.
Some may feel I am reading way too much into a friendly competition and perhaps I am.
As always I hope as writer and author you appreciate what your wordsmith is capable of.
Again while not a competitor in the shout out, I hope you might see this as an example of the same.
