Beneath the Sky

Valter Zhara

Prayers and promises, lit by sparkling starlight.

Will I give up, or stay and fight, patiently awaiting, my turn.

I listen hard to hear your words, to feel worthy, while in your world.

Every place I turn, man speaks as you, patiently awaiting, my turn.

Burning bright as the Sun, painting the sky from dusk to dawn.

I am the moon reflecting you, patiently awaiting, my turn.

Ocean breeze and waters wave, I do my best remaining brave.

King James speaks of your time, patiently awaiting, my turn.

One small matter if you don’t mind, I like to live life before my time.

Seems I misplaced it, along the way, patiently awaiting, my turn.

Our father know you’ve heard this much before, hear me this night.

Prayers and promises, patiently awaiting, my turn.

Jerusalem sand, windswept like my hopes.
Beneath the sky, patiently awaiting, my turn.
